Call me crazy if you want to, but I think that we are nearing the bottom. I predict that home sales will bottom in the next few months and that homes sales will begin to pick up in the coming months. I know that it is harder to sell new construction when the market is flooded with previously owned homes, but being that our country is primarily made of consumers we will soon see new home sales increase. Am I crazy? :)

Hard to say Paul. Obviously, as someone in the industry, I would love to believe that this is true. The elections do have a huge impact on the direction of the economy and everyday it seems that I hear different assessments from people in all aspects of our industry. There have been some ticks of life in the news lately that give me hope. I wouldn't call you crazy yet. Hopeful, optimistic, faithful are perhaps better tags.:=)

Paul, you're Crazy! I hope things bottom out over the next few months but high inventory levels (10.4 months), decreasing sales activity, rising foreclosures and more short sales lead me to believe that we're a lot more than a few months out. Foreclosure freezes and lobbying for more tax incentives may help turn things around sooner, but I'm not sure we'll reach the bottom for at least a year (I do hope I am wrong). www.NewHomesSection.com
